Though their name instantly brings to mind Count Me Out's infamous sophomore LP, their sound is more like a modern twist on Richmond forefathers Four Walls Falling or even Washington, D.C.'s Battery. Permanent already has a rich history, having played alongside Avail, Sinking Ships, Shook Ones, etc. While melodic hardcore is a bloated genre, Permanent stands apart from that crowd with a dark edge to their distinct sound. "Sink|Swim" is a record that will sit with you for a long time.
